Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Around 10:30 a.m. today, a homeowner noticed that his unsecured car was burglarized overnight in the 200 block of Spring Valley Drive. After noticing his car’s speakers, stereo amp system, and cash was removed from the car, the victim remembered seeing a 17-year-old male neighbor walking through his backyard earlier around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014.
Through further investigation, a diligent Mt. Juliet police officer was able to track down the juvenile suspect’s residence. Much of the stolen items were located after officers spoke with the suspect’s mother, who was unaware of what had occurred. The stolen items were returned back to the victim.
The unnamed 17-year-old male was charged with Theft Over $500 and will be scheduled to appear in the Wilson County Juvenile Court.
