Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – A man was arrested at a distribution facility yesterday after threatening to cut a co-workers throat with a box-cutter. Officers were summoned to CEVA Logistics, 12008 Eastgate Boulevard, on Monday, October 27, 2014 around 5:45 p.m. to investigate an altercation between co-workers. Facility security notified police and separated two male subjects after they got into an altercation.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 36-year-old male victim. The victim stated that he returned to his workstation after break when a co-worker became upset with him. The co-worker, identified as Omar Abdi, 30, of Nashville, asked the victim to leave, but the victim continued to work. Allegedly, Abdi then became angry and started to pull the victim outside of the facility to fight. After the victim refused to go outside, Abdi head-butted the victim and threatened to cut the victim’s throat with a box-cutter he pulled from his pocket. Bruising and swelling to the victim’s eye area was observed by the investigating officer. The victim ran to safety after being threatened with the box-cutter.
Abdi was arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault. He is set to appear in court on November 18, 2014 under a $7,500.00 bond.
