Three Juveniles In-Custody Following Early Morning Burglaries

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Three juveniles have been apprehended in connection to early morning burglaries at a Mt. Juliet apartment complex. Early this morning around 7:00 a.m., officers were summoned to Aventura Apartments in the Providence community in reference to six unlocked car burglaries and one aggravated burglary to an unlocked apartment.

While officers were investigating the burglaries, they located a wallet to an apartment resident who lives in the 2100 block of Aventura Drive. When making contact with the wallet owner, officers discovered that it was stolen from inside the apartment. Apparently, suspects entered the victim’s apartment through an unlocked door to commit burglary. While three residents were asleep in the apartment, wallets and a set of car keys were stolen. The suspects used the keys to steal a 2014 Volkswagen Passat, which was tracked with the assistance of GPS and Metro-Nashville Police officers to a hotel located in the 1000 block of Bell Road in Antioch.

“When crime hits our community, we try our hardest to track down those who threaten our peace,” stated Police Chief James Hambrick. “Thankfully, we were able to quickly apprehend three suspects today with the commitment of our officers and assistance from Metro-Nashville Police.”

After a brief search for the suspects at the Antioch hotel, three male juvenile teens were located around 10:00 a.m. and apprehended in connection to the car burglaries and aggravated burglary to the apartment in Mt. Juliet. The ages of the three are 15, 16, and 17 out of Nashville. A fourth male suspect fled on foot to nearby woods, but he was never located. Metro-Nashville Police Department assisted in the search, and Mt. Juliet Police is grateful for their assistance.

Later in the investigation, officers discovered a 2014 Toyota Avalon, stolen out of Nashville on November 4, 2014, in the parking lot of Holiday Inn (565 S. Mt. Juliet Road). This car was ditched prior to the juveniles committing the burglaries in Aventura Apartments due to it having two flat tires.

All three juveniles will be charged with one count of Aggravated Burglary, one count Theft of Auto, multiple counts of Theft of Property, and multiple counts of Burglary to a Vehicle.
