Missing 9-year-old Located By Citizen Connected to Mt. Juliet Nixle Alerts

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – The missing 9-year-old has been located safely. A citizen, connected to Mt. Juliet’s Nixle Alerts, spotted the child near Rutland Elementary school. Staff at Rutland Elementary then took the child into safety around 6:35 p.m. until police could arrive.

Police began searching for the missing 9-year-old, who left his home at Century of Providence Apartments, around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. At the same time, many reports regarding an unclothed child running through the Providence neighborhoods began to come into the Mt. Juliet’s Police & Fire Communication Center. Officers immediately flooded the area to search for the child, and the public was alerted through Nixle text alerts and social media.

Thankfully, a connected-citizen received the text alert and spotted the child. Investigators are now looking into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
