Investigation Underway In Search of Caller, Who Called in a Bomb Threat at Walmart

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Detectives are actively investigating a bomb threat that was phoned into Walmart. This afternoon around 2:40 p.m., Mt. Juliet’s Police & Fire Communications Center was notified by Walmart management in reference to a bomb threat that was phoned in. Immediately, police and fire units responded to the scene to secure the area and ensure a safe evacuation.

Further investigation revealed that the caller phoned in two bomb threats, minutes from each other, and had accurate information as to the status of the evacuation process. After Walmart was evacuated and parking lot secured, bomb detector dogs from Lebanon Emergency Services Unit responded to the scene to assist in ensuring the property was safe.

Officers and bomb detector dogs searched the Walmart property, and it was deemed safe around 4:20 p.m. Detectives continue to investigate the source and are hoping to identify the caller.
