Man Wanted After Running from Officer

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – A man is now wanted by Mt. Juliet Police after running from an officer. Around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016, an officer attempted to stop a car on Lebanon Road near Market Place because the registration tag did not match the vehicle. The driver, later identified as James Jeffrey Clifford, 47, of Madison, did not stop, and the officer pursued him until he drove his car into a field on Sunset Drive near N. Mt. Juliet Road. After driving into the field, Clifford jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the woods.

Many officers responded to the area to search for Clifford, but he was unable to be located. The search was called off after officers were able to obtain Clifford’s identification. Further investigation revealed that Clifford was driving on a revoked drivers license. He is also on parole for many felonies related to reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, drug offenses, theft, and evading arrest.

Warrants have been obtained, and Clifford is wanted for Evading Arrest and Violating the Habitual Offender law.
