Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – With the holiday shopping season upon us, the City of Mt. Juliet is informing motorists about alternate routes to gain access to the Providence area shopping destination. The South Mt. Juliet Road corridor near Providence Marketplace is highly trafficked during the holiday season. To alleviate some congestion, Mt. Juliet’s Public Works department has added a new timing plan to the traffic signals, which will go into effect this Thursday evening. An adaptive signal upgrade project is also in the works, which is a long-term solution to help with traffic congestion. However, the project will not be completed until after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Alternate routes to the Providence area include:

  • Interstate 40 to Exit 226C (primary and less-frequented exit for Providence Marketplace).
  • Interstate 40 to Exit 229 to Beckwith Road to Belinda Parkway
  • Interstate 40 to Exit 229 to Beckwith Road to S. Rutland Road to Providence Way
  • Central Pike to S. Rutland Road to Providence Way
