Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – The barricaded subject incident on Edinburg Street has ended peacefully. Mt. Juliet Police responded to the 2500 block of Edinburg Street around 4:30 a.m. this morning after the Mt. Juliet Emergency Communications Center received a call regarding subjects yelling in the street. The initial investigation revealed a female subject was threatening to harm herself, and she barricaded herself inside the home.
There was no one in the home with the subject, and adjacent neighbors were aware of the situation as a safety precaution.
In an effort to ensure the woman’s well-being was held at top priority, a Crisis Negotiator responded to speak with the individual. After a moment of communication with the woman, she met officers at the front door. Thankfully, no one was harmed during this incident, and the woman will be receiving the care she needs.
Area streets were closed while this situation is was resolved. Officers directed traffic around the incident.
