Investigation Complete in Pedestrian Crash at Exxon Parking Lot

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Officers have completed their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a pedestrian being struck by a truck in the Exxon parking lot. On Tuesday, May 9, 2017 around 6:30 a.m., officers were summoned to Exxon, located at 125 N. Mt. Juliet Road, in regards to a crash involving a pedestrian. The incident occurred in the parking lot of Exxon.

The investigation revealed that the pedestrian, 25-year-old William Rainey of Dickson, exited a pick-up truck driven by 44-year-old Jonathan Cantrell of Charlotte. After Rainey exited the truck, he bent down to adjust his shoe. Cantrell, unaware Rainey was adjusting his shoe near the truck, began to leave the parked position and pull away when Rainey was struck. Rainey was transported to Summit Hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

No one was charged in this incident.
