Chief Chandler Announces Leadership Promotions Within MJPD; Brockman and Dean Promoted to Captain

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Chief Tyler Chandler is proud to announce the promotions of Jason Brockman and Jacob Dean to the rank of Captain. Both promotions reflect their outstanding leadership, professionalism, and long-standing commitment to public service in Mt. Juliet.

Captain Jason Brockman, a Wilson County native and Mt. Juliet High School graduate, has been promoted from Lieutenant of the Administrative Services Division to Captain of the Administrative and Support Services Bureau. In this new role, he will oversee the department’s Special, Support, and Administrative Services divisions. With 28 years of experience, Captain Brockman has served in nearly every role within the department. He is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command, the Force Science Institute, and the FBI LEEDA Trilogy. His career is marked by a long list of honors, including the Sgt. Jerry Mundy Award, multiple Investigator of the Year awards, the Chief’s Award, and several life-saving and meritorious service commendations. He remains active in faith-based and community efforts and continues to serve with the values of integrity, service, and dedication to the community that has shaped his career.

Captain Jason Brockman

Captain Jacob Dean has been promoted from Lieutenant of the Day Patrol Division to Captain of the Patrol and Investigations Bureau. In this position, he will lead the Day Patrol, Night Patrol, and Investigations divisions. A Mt. Juliet native and Wilson Central High School graduate, Captain Dean has over a decade of service with the department. His leadership has spanned patrol operations, training, and the Special Response Team. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cumberland University and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. He has championed the department’s use of modern technology and servant leadership to support community policing. Captain Dean remains active in mentoring youth through the Mt. Juliet Police Cadets, serves on regional law enforcement advisory boards, and is involved in local faith-based outreach. His awards include the Chief’s Award, two Meritorious Awards, and Patrol Officer of the Year.
