Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Officers responded to a report of possible active shoplifting, stopped a car, and located a wanted person. During the early afternoon of Wednesday, January 28, 2015, staff at a Providence Marketplace clothing store called Mt. Juliet Police to report possible active shoplifting by three individuals. Undercover officers, with Mt. Juliet’s Crime Suppression Unit, immediately responded to the area and began to conduct surveillance on the suspected theft activity.

A traffic stop was conducted on the suspects’ Honda CRV, and an odor of marijuana was noticed by officers. A baggy of approximately 2 grams of marijuana was spotted in the CRV’s center cup holder as well

Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Brittany R. Ezell, 24 of Nashville, had a revoked driver’s license and an active warrant out of Williamson County for a Probation Violation, stemming from previous charges of Theft Over $1,000.00, Aggravated Robbery, and Disorderly Conduct.

Two other individuals were in the CRV during the stop, but they were not charged with a crime. The three were all on active felony probation.

Ezell was arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail, charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana and Driving on a Revoked Driver’s License. She is set to appear in court on March 16, 2015 on a $3,000.00 bond.
