Statutory Rape Suspect, Wanted out of Georgia, Apprehended by Police

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – A statutory rape suspect, wanted out of Georgia, was spotted in Mt. Juliet, and police have apprehended him. Around 11:30 a.m., Mt. Juliet Police received information that Michael Steven Lee, 22, of Georgia, was currently at the McDonald’s, located at 126 N. Mt. Juliet Road. He is wanted for Statutory Rape of a Child Under 16-years-old out of Thomas County, Georgia.

Prior to officers arriving on-scene at McDonald’s to apprehend Lee, he took off running towards the Stonegate mobile home community. Police immediately began searching for Lee, and he was eventually located around 12:35 p.m. An undercover Crime Suppression Unit officer spotted Lee running down Stonegate Court and gave chase. Lee was apprehended by the officer, and he is in custody. He will be booked into the Wilson County Jail, awaiting extradition to Georgia.

Police were made aware that Lee was wanted out of Georgia because he told a McDonald’s employee that he was wanted by police. The employee then told a patron of McDonald’s, who notified police.
