Suspected Drunk Driver Arrested After Crashing Through Restaurant Patio

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – After crashing a car through a vacant outdoor dining area, a woman was placed under arrest for suspected drunk driving. Yesterday evening, around 6:20 p.m., a nearby officer heard a loud crash and went to investigate in the area of Providence 14 theater in Providence Marketplace mall. Upon arriving on the scene, the officer discovered that a Ford Focus crashed through two patio fences and a brick wall at a vacant restaurant near the theater roundabout.

Further investigation revealed that the driver, Kim Jones, 46, of Mt. Juliet was impaired when she lost control of her car while attempting to park. Officers discovered a mostly consumed bottle of vodka inside her purse and a cup containing a similar substance in the car. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident.

Jones was arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail, charged with Driving Under the Influence – 1st Offense.
