Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Mt. Juliet Police will be providing an escort today for moving the body of retired United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel John Wade Maxwell, who recently passed away at the age of 91.
A WWII and Vietnam Veteran, Colonel Maxwell served from 1945 to 1970. He earned a Distinguished Flying Cross for an emergency ammunition resupply mission flying a C130 during the Tet in March 1968.
The escort will begin at Nashville International Airport and will end at Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet. It is expect that the escort will pass through Mt. Juliet along N. Mt. Juliet Road, between Interstate 40 and Division Street, around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. During that time, minor traffic delays should be expected.
Those wishing to show honor to Colonel Maxwell are encouraged to line the escort route. A message will be sent out on Mt. Juliet Police Department’s social media once the exact time of the escort through Mt. Juliet is determined.
