Mt. Juliet Tenn. – Three shoplifters were apprehended after an officer spotted them carrying a stolen TV out of the rear emergency exit at Walmart, located at 300 Pleasant Grove Road. Yesterday around 6:40 p.m., a Mt. Juliet police officer, completing paperwork behind Walmart, witnessed three males exit through the emergency exit pushing a $628.00 TV in a cart. When the officer attempted to stop the suspects, they dropped the TV and took off running.
The suspects were chased by the officer for approximately half a mile, until additional officers arrived on the scene to help apprehended the suspects. All three suspects were subsequently caught. While one officer was attempting to apprehend one suspect, Mason Dobbs, 19, of Nashville, a Taser was deployed due to his resistive behavior. Erik Moreno, 20, of Hermitage was also apprehended, and he was in possession of marijuana. A 17-year-old unnamed male from Old Hickory was apprehended as well.
Dobbs was arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail, charged with Theft of Property, Evading Arrest, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Moreno was arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail, charged with Theft of Property, Evading Arrest, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Drug (marijuana). The juvenile was transported to the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center, charged with Theft of Property and Evading Arrest.
