Police Searching For Potential Gunman in Wooded-Area Near Hickory Hills Subdivision

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Police are searching for a potential gunman in a wooded-area near the Hickory Hills subdivision tonight. After two separate incidents, it is believed that there is a homeless man, camped out in the woods and armed. A shot was reportedly fired at two people this afternoon.

Today around 2:30 p.m., officers responded to a wooded area behind Leesa Ann Lane after two juveniles reported that a man threatened to harm them while they were walking in the woods. Officers responded, but they were unable to locate anyone. However, they did locate an abandoned vehicle and campsite. There was evidence of someone shooting a firearm.

Also today, around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a report from two people on an ATV that an unknown man shot at them. Since that report, officers have been in the area looking for a potential suspect. Aviation and K9 support has been called-in to help search for the unknown suspect, who could be in the woods and armed.
