Unlocked Cars Targeted by Thieves in Saddlewood, Park Glen, and Willoughby Station

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Mt. Juliet Police are continuing to urge residents to remove their valuables and lock their cars after 5 unlocked cars were burglarized and a car stolen overnight. Coming out at night, using the advantage of darkness, burglars scavenged from unlocked cars in the Saddlewood, Park Glen, and Willoughby Station neighborhoods last night. The thieves simply run through the neighborhood and take advantage of any unlocked car that they find.

The unknown burglars took computerized tablets, sunglasses, cash, and many other items. In one particular incident, the suspect(s) found a key in an unlocked car and used that key to steal a car in the same driveway. The specific streets affected by the burglaries include Saddlewood Dr, Creek Pt, Creekfront Dr, Livingstone Ln, and Ashmore Ct.

Residents are urged to remove all valuables from their cars and ensure doors are locked. Each of these crimes could have been prevented by simply locking the car. Also, homeowners are asked to check their outdoor surveillance video footage to see if any suspects were caught on camera operating in the area.

A $500.00 cash reward is being offered to anyone that can provide information that leads to the conviction of the offenders responsible for these crimes.

Anyone with any information regarding the burglaries are encouraged to call the Mt. Juliet Police Department at (615) 754-2550. Information can also be given anonymously by calling (615) 754-TIPS (8477) or via the Mt. Juliet Police Department website at http://www.mjpd.org/ .
