Reckless Driver Involved in Illegal Street Racing Activity in Hermitage Flees into Mt. Juliet at High Speeds & Crashes into Two Vehicles

Just near midnight, Mt. Juliet officers were alerted by the Metro-Nashville Police Department (MNPD) about illegal street racing activity on Lebanon Rd near Andrew Jackson Blvd. MNPD’s special unit officers attempted to stop the illegal activity, but the vehicles fled in multiple directions. One of those vehicles continued at an extremely fast speed eastbound on Lebanon Rd into Mt. Juliet. There was no active pursuit.

Two Mt. Juliet officers clocked the vehicle at over 100 MPH at different points along Lebanon Rd, but they could not pursue. On Lebanon Rd near Benders Ferry Rd, the vehicle crashed into two other vehicles, which caused those vehicles to rollover. Three individuals, one out of each involved vehicle, were transported to a local hospital. All their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is completing the the crash investigation, and the Metro-Nashville Police Department is investigating the events that occurred in their jurisdiction. Both will likely charge the reckless driver, respective to the events in each jurisdiction.
