Masked Gunman Commits After-hours Robbery of Burger King

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – A masked gunman forced Burger King’s maintenance employee to the back office and took cash from the restaurant’s safe. On Tuesday, November 17, 2015 around 1:30 a.m. officers responded to Burger King, located at 11547 Lebanon Road, after Mt. Juliet’s Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from the lone employee that an armed robbery had just occurred.

An athletic build black male, wearing a teal green zip-up hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants, sunglasses, dark-colored winter mask, and a black backpack, entered the restaurant through an unlocked door and confronted the maintenance employee. The suspect forced the maintenance man to the restaurant’s office, where he retrieved an undisclosed amount of cash from the safe. After taking the cash, the suspect ran out of the store and fled behind it. During the robbery, the suspect was carrying a silver semi-automatic handgun.

No one was injured during this incident. Investigators hope someone in the community will recognize the suspect and his clothing from the surveillance images. The surveillance images are washed out and are not a correct representation of the suspect’s complexion, which was described by the victim as much darker.

Anyone with any information regarding this crime is encouraged to call the Mt. Juliet Police Department at (615) 754-2550. Information can also be given anonymously by calling (615) 754-TIPS (8477) or via the Mt. Juliet Police Department website at http://www.mjpd.org/ .
