As wildfires continue in the southeast United States, the smoke from the fires is impacting the Mt. Juliet area today. Residents will notice an odor of smoke in the air and hazy skies during the impact.
Mt. Juliet’s emergency communications center has been receiving many calls about the smoke. There is no need to call 911 to report general odors of smoke outside.
The elderly, children, and those with respiratory issues may be sensitive to the smoke.
