Traffic Stop for Speeding Leads to Arrest of Man Wanted in Wisconsin for Child Abuse & Strangulation

Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – A 31-year-old man, wanted out of Wisconsin for physical abuse of a child, is in custody following a traffic stop in Mt. Juliet. A Mt. Juliet Police officer stopped a car for speeding on Interstate 40 West near the 223 mile-marker on Friday, March 10, 2017 around 5:15 p.m. The driver, identified as Anthony Hippolyte, 31, of Antioch, was stopped for exceeding well above the speed limit after passing an officer in an unmarked police vehicle.

A computer check, through a national database, revealed that Hippolyte was wanted out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on a nationwide extradition warrant for State of Wisconsin felony statute charges of Child Abuse – Intentionally Cause Harm and Strangulation and Suffocation.

He was taken into custody and booked into the Wilson County Jail, where he will await extradition back to Wisconsin.
