Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Overnight on Monday, September 14, an investigation into suspicious activity in the parking lot of Ross Dress for Less led Mt. Juliet officers to apprehend a wanted Ohio man who was also unlawfully in possession of a firearm.
During the investigation, an officer determined a vehicle in the parking lot was occupied by a 22-year-old Ohio man who had been wanted out of Rutherford County since December 2023 for a felony violation of probation related to burglary and theft.
As officers took the man into custody, a handgun was located in his waistband. Further investigation revealed he is also a convicted felon in Ohio for felony aggravated possession of drugs, making his possession of the firearm unlawful.
The man was taken into custody and booked into the Wilson County Jail.
The arrest is another example of the importance of proactive policing and officers remaining alert to suspicious activity throughout the community.
During the first six months of 2026, Mt. Juliet officers apprehended 342 wanted individuals, with 88% being non-residents of the city.
